Lazy Oaf Autumn '14 Womenswear Preview

Wednesday, 23 July 2014

Today, Lazy Oaf (one of my favourite brands, in case you hadn't noticed... ;P) premiered a new short video preview of their Autumn '14 womenswear collection. I always love Lazy Oafs videos, and this one is no exception! Cute and quirky, it's a nice introduction to the collection. I already have my eye on the 'Bad Idea' shirt in particular - I don't often wear t-shirts, but I really like that one! Also, the pretty pastel colour palette makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... It's a refreshing pop of colour to brighten up the winter-time gloominess of late! :)

I'm keen to see what else this collection holds when it drops on the 25th of July! :)

What I Wore Today: 16th July '14

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

Hat: ASOS
Yin yang choker & amethyst ring: Mystic The Label (http://mysticthelabel.bigcartel.com)
Dress: Neon Hart

I felt as though today was a day for dressing dark, despite the lovely sunny weather! It's been awful weather in Perth lately, so it was nice to be able to wear one of my favourite maxi dresses with an open back and slit up the thigh as opposed to jeans and cosy jumpers. I accessorised it with pretty jewellery from Mystic The Label (as well as a few random pieces of jewellery I've collected over the years). Although, I imagine this will be a one-off warm day and it will be back to wintery weather soon enough, at least I'll still be able to wear my nice jewellery when the sun is hiding! :)

Jewellery by Mystic The Label

Monday, 14 July 2014

Recently I was sent a lovely package containing some pretty pieces from Melbourne-based jewellery company Mystic The Label. I am absolutely choker obsessed, so the three chokers you see above have been getting worn to death since they arrived! The amethyst ring has been generating some compliments - it’s different to other gemstone rings I’ve seen before, a refreshing new take on how a gemstone can be worked into a ring! :)
Check out these pieces and many more wonderful creations at mysticthelabel.bigcartel.com! <3

~Dyspnea Dreaming~

Wednesday, 25 June 2014
Dyspnea, one of my favourite Australian labels, launched their new online store today... and I can't wait to get some lovely garments from them for my wardrobe!
Currently on the top of my wishlist is one of their FLUFFTART tops:

Have you ever seen so much fluffy AND crystal-embellished goodness in one garment?? Crystal embellishments and fluff... it truly is a match made in heaven.

The FLUFFTART tops are available in pink, purple, or red, and at $89 for a handmade-in-Australia garment they are very reasonably priced!
Check them and many more wonderful Dyspnea creations out at http://shop.dyspnea.com.au

What I Wore Today: 24th June '14

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Headpiece: Chromat (chromatgarments.com)
Top: Lazy Oaf (lazyoaf.com)
Cardigan: (thrifted)
Jeans: Wrangler (available at generalpants.com.au)
Shoes: YRU (www.y-r-u.com)

Yesterday I had some online shopping arrive, and I'm absolutely in love with my new purchases! Three of which I am wearing today - a new top, headpiece, and pair of shoes.

I am super happy to finally own a garment from the Lazy Oaf X Garfield collection - I loved Garfield growing up (the plush Garfield that I'm holding is one that was my mums childhood toy, that she then gave to me when I was little), so it's nice to carry that childhood love on into adulthood!

An Assignment Photoshoot...

Saturday, 14 June 2014
Today I had the pleasure of styling and photographing my lovely friend Dev (@speakofthe_devil) for a university assignment. The assignment involved choosing a 'trend' and then styling and carrying out a photoshoot based around it (after thorough research and planning of course!). The best images of these are then edited and compiled into an editorial spread. For my trend I chose to combine influences from punk and skinhead fashion with Lolita living doll fashion... I love playing around with opposites and seeing how they can be combined!

We had some photos taken in a studio with a professional photographer a few weeks ago, however I planned on taking majority of the photos for my editorial out and about, which Dev and I did today... Here are some of the resulting images! Any feedback is welcome :)

What I Wore Today: 11th June '14

Wednesday, 11 June 2014

Hat: ASOS (www.asos.com.au)
Top: Thrifted
Jeans: Wrangler (available at generalpants.com.au)
Jacket: Thrifted

I channelled some witchy vibes for todays outfit!
The top is a recent op-shop acquisition, and something I can see myself getting a lot of wear from... well worth the $3.50 I spent on it! Thanks to the funky neckline it has that 90's-style quality that I absolutely love.

These Wrangler high-waisted skinny jeans are the best pair of jeans I've owned! They fit perfectly (which is a must for tight high-waisted jeans!), and being a cotton/polyester/elastane fabric blend they have enough stretch to be comfortable to wear. Definitely recommend them if you're after a new pair for this winter!
